Nillumbik Shire Council is committed to the improvement and maintenance of health in the community, particularly for older people living at home. This web page is the first step to linking older residents together, keeping in touch with loved ones, or simply obtaining information.
The simple, useable structure of the website is evident in the bright descriptive icons it uses in the lefthand menu to link to the various features of the site, including an interactive Infocast, where older residents can share their news; the Page Builder application that people can use to create their own page and content on the same site; an intranet membership form, and address book for existing members; and useful links to online search tools, transportation information, local libraries and other community information.
Infoxchange Australia also provided the Nillumbik Shire Council with basic Internet training for older people, and this website contains a form where training participants can provide feedback on the training course.
